I just spent five hours in the Rockford Public Library talking on the phone.
It’s official.
I’m going to hell.
One major benefit to working from home is that I can dance around my kitchen when I’m lacking in inspriation.
I could also wear a Snuggie.
That would enable me to dance around my kitchen while wearing a Snuggie . .. awesome.
It’s not terribly uplifting to be looking at 990 tax forms and notice that many of these people who work for a non-profit are making what I hope to earn someday when I have a real job in not only their salaries (I’ll never make that much!), but in their annual bonuses!
Holy moly!
Sometimes I worry that my job as a journalist is not only to convey information to the public, but to make the people that I talk with sound like intelligent human beings.
Even when everything they’ve said to me is in obvious contradiction to that.
So I met up with this great freelance writer for tips about how to pitch stories, write stories, get paid for stories, etc. We chatted for an hour and a half, and I’m now going to be helping him out with some background research.
Overall, the meeting went swimmingly.
I just really hope he wasn’t the guy in the Jeep Wrangler that I almost rammed into upon leaving our coffee shop meeting place.
