Snowy Boulder reflections

If I was a poet, I’d spend some time describing the peace of this morning’s snowy run–the trees burdened with heavy powder, the quiet broken only by the pound of my footsteps …

But because I’m not, I feel like I should tell you about the wicked snot rockets I was able to launch, since the cold induced my nose to run just as hard as my feet were.

They were awesome.

Boulder ballot items 2B and 2C

Had a dream last night about voting for or against Boulder ballot items 2B and 2C.

Obviously, whether or not Boulder municipalities should be run privately or publicly is weighing far heavier on my subconscious than I’d previously believed.

Boulder bike ride

Despite the chilly, dreary, almost-rainy weather this morning, I went for a great bike ride up Flagstaff Road.

The ride wasn’t quite so great for the massive worm that I accidentally bifurcated on my way home …

Accepting (the Boulder) reality

Coming back from my run this morning I saw a guy going out for ride not on his bicycle, but on his unicycle.

It wasn't this guy, but I wouldn't be surprised if this guy lives in Boulder. Pic by Martin Vidner.

And he was pretty ripped (although not quite as ripped as Mr. Soltys).

I went over the awesomeness of my being that buff and momentarily contemplated picking up unicycling as a hobby.

But then I realized that that was never, ever going to happen.

Life decisions

Yesterday during a morning date at a local breakfastery that shall remain nameless, Mike realized that he (or perhaps the chef) didn’t know the difference between eggs over easy and eggs over medium.

When his “over medium” order came out too runny for his liking, he decided that from now on he’ll opt for “eggs over really difficult.”

Hard, easy, medium, impossible ... who knows. Pic from SanFranAnnie on Flickr.

We’ll keep you posted on how that works out.

Non-profits profitting

It's all about the Benjamins ... Pic from AMagill on Flickr.

It’s not terribly uplifting to be looking at 990 tax forms and notice that many of these people who work for a non-profit are making what I hope to earn someday when I have a real job in not only their salaries (I’ll never make that much!), but in their annual bonuses!

Holy moly!
