A fishy situation

Went to the Asian food market the other day down in Denver. They haveĀ huge tanks filled with lobsters, crabs and big ‘ole fish swimming around. You can get a pretty good price too–only $12.99 for a 2+ pound live lobster.

Check out those beady little eyes!

Admittedly, not all of the seafood was quite so chipper.

Thus it was necessary to designate pricing specific to breathing capabilities. As you can see below, the signs don’t mince words:

Sick

(From awhile ago …)

OK, I’ll admit it. After five days with a wracking cough that’s probably bronchitis, the diagnosed double pink eye, a sinus infection, an inability to hear anything but highly muffled sounds out of my clogged right ear, a sore throat, and hangnail, it’s time to face the truth.

I’m sick.

Benefits of good TP

I typically scoff when my husband mandates that we purchase the super soft, plush, gentle-enough-for-a-baby’s-bottom toilet paper. But I have to admit that it’s been a lifesaver for my recent hyper congested, blow-my-nose-every-five-minutes affliction.

So here’s a toast (of Emergen-C) to Mike’s tender tushy!

Busy roads: Pros and cons

You know, living on a relatively busy road definitely has its downsides: namely hearing the sounds of traffic almost constantly.

However, when vehicles crash into the median, ram into the road sign, send a stream of sparks into the air and scatter car debris–including a bumper–along the road, which other speedsters then run over for the next 30 minutes, living on a busy road is a genuine source of entertainment.

It’s happened three times so far and has yet to get old.

This guy may well have rammed into the sign outside my house. Thanks to zombieite for the pic.

Near travesty

Mike wore a look of despondency this afternoon when the hand mixer that he found on the side of the road more than five years ago appeared to have died.

But don’t lose any sleep over this travesty because after a bit of fiddling with it, he got it to work again. Whew. Close call.

Our mixer is nowhere near this nice. Thanks to missy & the universe on Flickr for the pic.
